11.5 Watchlist - Holding Short PLA

PLA - Finished red at -6.42%. I'm short 1,000 PLA at $2.43 since this Tuesday morning. Come on red!
GPCB - Wow finished the day green at 132.19%. Wow that's crazy.
PRSC - Another wow for a stock that finished green at a crazy 92.59%. Still a lot of volume though.
ENOC - Closed the day green at 35.04% on no big news. Only it's first day up though folks and it would be a risky short because there's no sign of red...yet.
NGA - Ended the day green at 27.53%. Any signs of red will make this a great ride down.
CCRT - Closed the day green 32.30% because of the completely absurd price spike during the last ten minutes of the trading day. I'd reserve this stock and short it if I wasn't in PLA because the early bird will get the cash in this one.

Hello Il Torello

I tried putting together a screener last night and learn this strategy of trading and the results are
RZ, PRGN, ACF, AGM, and RNOW.

I have no clue what I am doing per this strategy of trading so please forgive my selections.

Thank You
Ron

Ron...no forgiveness necessary! Just as long as you can justify your argument when it comes to trading, then go for it. Everyone has different perception when it comes to the Market. Pretty good start! When I first started trading, I tried learning about as many styles as possible...and there are many out there. With small accounts such as mine, I've learned to be very selective and try to find boring predictable charts with exponential run ups, plain and simple. RZ is an old friend...I banked on that one before! I will keep and eye on that one!

Hello Il Torello

From the picks I had yesterday seems that I would of done pretty good. What do you fine tune or look at to make sure the stock you pick makes a good short sell candidate?

Also what are the rules for short selling? I have read something about PDT, though not sure how that applies to someone like me if I only make 2-3 trades a day/week

Thank You
ROn

Ron...the stocks you picked did look nice, but the ultimate test is if you can make a profit taking a short position while the Market is up. That's funny that you asked me exactly what kind of play I look for because I was going to write a post about it during this weekend. I hope you took a short position and banked?

Ron... Basic pattern day trader rule summary:

An NASD & SEC rule that applies to anyone who buys and sells a particular security in the same trading day (day trades), and does this four or more times in any five consecutive business day period. A pattern day trader is subject to special rules. The main rule is that in order to engage in pattern day trading you must maintain an equity balance of at least $25,000 in a margin account.

Hello Il Torello

Thank You for the reply and explaination on the PDT rule.

I did not trade the selections I made, in hindsight I would of made some money.

Question why is RZ a better short sell candidate compare to my other picks PRGN, ACF, AGM, and RNOW?

Thank You
Ron
